Smacking Down Summit and C9 - 100 Thieves LCS Spring 2022 Week 8 Recap

100 Thieves came through big time this weekend, shutting the door on TSM's playoff hopes and delivering a customary thorough defeat of a sizzling hot C9 squad (as has been done in past splits). 100Talk had its most visible moment in LCS with our poll about Ssumday vs Closer as our MVP representative hitting the broadcast twice. The timing was perfect, as it appears to have shifted the narrative since HOW CAN ANYONE CHOOSE THE TOPLANER THAT WENT 0/8 AGAINST THE OTHER??? However, plans were ultimately foiled by yet another loss to Final Boss Dignitas.

As usual, Jordan and Cole debate whether weird losses matter. They also revel in the reform the staff has worked with the players to get this 100T squad humming at the perfect time in the season and make predictions for how the upcoming playoff weekend will go for the team. As we've said in podcasts of yore: it's a good time to be rooting for the Thieves.

100T has managed to climb from 8th place to 3rd place in a matter of a week, and fans are beside themselves. 7 straight wins are making the dads think that this is more than a honeymoon with Nukeduck - it just may be true love. Sitting pretty in winner’s bracket for this weekend, the Thieves look to be a dark horse contender for the LCS title, seemingly out of nowhere. A miraculous thing happened this weekend: 100 Thieves dropped a game to FlyQuest and for once nobody gave a sermon preaching about why this means the team is a fraud. That means Jordan and Cole have less work to do on this end of regular season edition of 100Talk. The dads follow the thread of what we learned through 100T’s super week games and how the Thieves have learned to have a plan after getting punched in the mouth. They talk draft diffing quality opponents and debate which of the Thieves get All-LCS nods. And in light of the recent white-hot success of the org’s esports, discuss the winning culture that has been built at the CashApp Compound.
