Smacking Down Summit and C9 - 100 Thieves LCS Spring 2022 Week 8 Recap

100 Thieves came through big time this weekend, shutting the door on TSM's playoff hopes and delivering a customary thorough defeat of a sizzling hot C9 squad (as has been done in past splits). 100Talk had its most visible moment in LCS with our poll about Ssumday vs Closer as our MVP representative hitting the broadcast twice. The timing was perfect, as it appears to have shifted the narrative since HOW CAN ANYONE CHOOSE THE TOPLANER THAT WENT 0/8 AGAINST THE OTHER??? However, plans were ultimately foiled by yet another loss to Final Boss Dignitas.

As usual, Jordan and Cole debate whether weird losses matter. They also revel in the reform the staff has worked with the players to get this 100T squad humming at the perfect time in the season and make predictions for how the upcoming playoff weekend will go for the team. As we've said in podcasts of yore: it's a good time to be rooting for the Thieves.

A win is a win, and a one and one is a one and one. But things still don’t feel all the way right at the 100 Thieves [redacted] Compound. 100T Takes the Nukelear Option - 100 Thieves LCS Spring 2023 Week 6 Recap

100T made big news with their decision to fire head coach Kaas and to let Nukeduck step up as interim head LCS coach after the team turned in what is likely its worst week of League of Legends in the org’s history. Given the presence of established, outspoken veterans on the squad (who are currently underperforming expectations), a lot of fans are crying scapegoat. Jordan and Cole think through what we know and what we don’t know about the situation, and discuss the legitimacy of the changes based on the balance. They also lay out the path for the remainder of the season and realize (in real time) that this is a team that is dancing close to catastrophe - will the Nukeduck change be the Bible in the middle to make sure it’s not TOO close???
