100Talk - 100 Thieves Podcast

100 Thieves cleared the bar against Dignitas by a higher margin than we anticipated. A decisive 3-0 featured an appearance from Old Dominant Ssumday, PermaHecarim Closer, Damage Dealer Ryoma, Always Good Bot Lane, and Forgiving Draft Dignitas. We liked it. It feels a little like 100T has their groove back, but how much can we really read into this weekend? Prophet Cole has been on fire lately, and came through again this weekend as C9 held 100T’s hand tightly and escorted them to the loser’s bracket. After the expected 3-0 broom job, not much has changed. Ssumday continues to uncharacteristically slump and the Thieves play standard when they could likely benefit from getting a little funky with it. Hesitantly, the dads are starting to look in the direction of team leadership and ask why we seem to just get worse with time. Spring 2021 will forever be remembered by 100 Thieves fans as the year we talked ourselves out of our reasonable expectations of the team. After a full split of games and a rollercoaster of ups and downs, we’ve landed in 4th place - exactly where most of us projected we’d be. So why all the disappointment? Why the frustration? In (we hate to say it) what is kinda typical fashion, we’ve gotten there with a series of unexpected and maddening trends and an inability to maintain form we show early. Prophet Cole called it - 100T can’t resist the urge to play midlaner roulette and they rotated Ryoma in for Damonte for week 5. The results are TOTALLY CONCLUSIVE with NO ROOM FOR DISAGREEMENT. With many 100T fans panicking about the team despite a 2-1 weekend, Jordan and Cole attempt to “calm everyone the h*ck down” while also acknowledging a couple of weaknesses they perceive with this team.
