While week 7 had some cracks showing in the 100T facade, things really started to crumble in week 8. With one week left in the LCS summer split regular season, 100 Thieves face slipping out of 1st place, possibly out of second place (and therefore a playoff bye), and losing the magic that has been with the team for most of the split. It’s a tough spot for fans, too - feeling like we just aren’t playing the same way as we did just mere weeks ago. For the first time, 100T’s 2021 Worlds dreams feel mortal. But as always, the dads are here to give some tough love. Jordan and Cole explain the concerns they have about the squad when it comes to the meta, individual performances, and macro play. Weird loss against Dignitas, right? Despite looking mortal for really the first weekend this split, 100T is able to crush hardstuck 2nd TSM in a convincing win and look on form while doing it. The losses to resurrected Golden Guardians and surging Evil Geniuses? This weekend was a celebration of greatness - that’s right, another 3-0 weekend for the Thieves. 100T officially became the first team NOT named C9, TL, or TSM to hold sole possession of first place since Optic in 2019 (757 days). With the Thieves now a fully-established LCS favorite, both fans and the League community at large are putting the team under a microscope to magnify every flaw there is. We’ve reached it, y’all: the nitpicking phase. The dads come together to remind everyone that making mountains out of molehills is only natural when it comes to analyzing the favorite.
